What you get

A complete provisioning setup before you start shopping.

Victuo turns your trip, crew, boat, and route into a meal plan, grouped shopping list, storage checks, and supplier context. You can plan what to cook, understand what to buy, spot storage pressure early, and see where provisioning or resupply may be easier before departure.

Day-by-day meals show alternates for mixed crew needs

Meal plan adapted to the trip

Daily meals are shaped by route rhythm, day type, crew preferences, and onboard cooking constraints.

Food that fits and lasts

Fit breakdowns explain why a meal matched the slot

Food that fits and lasts

Meal choices are explainable, so you can see why a dish matches a day, guest, calorie target, or prep constraint.

Shopping lists ready to use

Category totals stay grouped with exact buying quantities

Shopping lists ready to use

Ingredients are aggregated into structured quantities you can check off, edit, export, or send to suppliers.

Supplier and resupply context

Supplier search stays anchored to the selected marina and route

Supplier and resupply context

Relevant suppliers and marina context help you plan departure provisioning and later restock options along the route.

Problems and insights

Most provisioning plans look good on paper.

They fail when limited storage, changing conditions, crew needs, and resupply gaps show up together.

01

Wrong plan

  • Food does not fit the fridge or storage.
  • Meals need equipment you do not have onboard.
02

Waste

  • Fresh food spoils before it is used.
  • Uncertainty turns into overbuying.
03

Pressure onboard

  • Rough days expose missing easy meals.
  • Crew needs and expectations collide under stress.
04

Resupply gaps

  • You assume availability that is not there.
  • Delivery and restock options are found too late.

Deep product sections

How Victuo handles real-world scenarios.

These are the places where the product has to stay practical once real trip conditions take over.

Scenario 01

Plans that adapt to real sailing conditions

Trip type and planning mode set the baseline before the product generates meals and quantities.

  • Charter, training, coastal leisure, and longer passages can start from different assumptions.
  • Route rhythm and onboard context shape the first version instead of being added later.
  • The planning setup stays visible enough to review before generation.

Scenario 02

Meals adjust based on weather, activity, and crew energy

The engine weighs planning mode, weather, activity, comfort, and remoteness before selecting meals.

  • Hot conditions can favor lighter, fresher options.
  • Demanding days can favor simpler prep and stronger energy coverage.
  • Behavioral profile controls help tune how conservative or flexible the plan should be.

Scenario 03

Browse meals before you commit

The meal explorer keeps candidate dishes visible, filterable, and easy to compare before they land in the plan.

  • Meal options can be filtered by slot, diet, prep style, and favorites.
  • Cards show calories and preparation tags before a meal is selected.
  • The plan stays editable without hiding the meal catalog behind generation.

Scenario 04

Handles crew complexity

Mixed diets, exclusions, and preferences stay inside one workable plan.

  • Guest preferences can be collected without chasing messages across chat.
  • Diet needs and exclusions stay inside one trip instead of splitting the workflow.
  • Late replies can be folded in without rebuilding from zero.

Questions

Common questions

How is this different from a spreadsheet?

A spreadsheet does not understand sailing conditions, storage limits, galley equipment, perishability, or crew diet rules. Victuo calculates those together and gives you an editable working plan instead of a blank grid.

What standards inform the calculations?

Victuo starts from a baseline physiological-needs model and is informed by public nutrition reference frameworks and offshore safety practice, including WHO healthy-diet guidance, EFSA dietary reference values, the U.S. National Academies Dietary Reference Intakes, the U.S. Dietary Guidelines, World Sailing Offshore Special Regulations, US Sailing safety guidance, RYA guidance, and MCA and Coast Guard preparedness practice. It is still a planning tool, not medical advice or a substitute for skipper judgment.

What kind of trip is Victuo built for?

Victuo is designed for multi-day yacht trips such as charter weeks, family cruising, flotilla trips, training passages, and longer onboard itineraries where food, water, and storage need proper planning.

How much do I need to know before I can generate a plan?

You only need the essentials to start: trip length, crew size, trip style, and a basic boat profile. You can refine storage, equipment, drinks, and crew preferences afterward without starting from scratch.

Can I start planning before all guests reply?

Yes. Generate an early version first, then fold in guest responses later. Preferences can be reviewed and approved as they come in, and locked choices stay in place when you regenerate.

Can it handle vegetarians, vegans, pescatarians, and exclusions?

Yes. Victuo supports mixed crews with diet types and exclusions such as no dairy, no fish, and no egg, and it can generate compatible alternatives automatically. You should still verify allergens and ingredient safety yourself before final purchase.

Does it account for boat storage and cooking equipment?

Yes. Victuo checks fridge, freezer, and dry storage against the plan, and filters meals based on the galley setup. If the boat does not have the equipment for a meal, that meal should not make it into the shortlist.

What if weather, route, or crew changes?

That is exactly the kind of change Victuo is meant to absorb. You can update trip settings, add or remove crew, lock the parts you want to keep, and regenerate the rest instead of reworking the whole plan by hand.
